USS Thresher

Arlington National Cemetery

Memorial Project

Reception

A reception will be held at the Women in Military Service For America Memorial from 1725 to 2000. All attendees are encouraged to attend.

USS Thresher Family/Former Crew, this is your opportunity to personally contribute to realizing our charter of perpetuating the memories and SUBSAFE legacy of the 129 men lost aboard USS Thresher by communicating your stories with those who build, overhaul, maintain and operate our Nations Submarines.

The reception is a short walk from the USS Thresher ANC Memorial on National Park Service property that abuts ANC.

Trams will transport those who boarded for the wreath laying ceremony to the reception. They will remain on-site to return you to your car or bus.

The USSVI Marblehead Base USS Thresher Parade Float will be setup in front of the fountain.

Banners containing photos of the 129 men lost will be setup in the building.

An area will be setup at the reception for the USS Thresher Family Singers to perform.

Caterers will provide standing tables and servers, including two bars.

A viewing area is available on the top of the building enabling vistas of ANC and Washington, DC. Steps lead from the roof onto ANC grounds. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted within ANC and need to remain within the building.

RADM Clarke Orzalli, USN Retired & Foundation Treasurer, is currently soliciting corporate donations to secure $52K needed to cover the costs of the Trams rental, reception facility rental and catering for an estimated 1000. You can help by making a tax deductible donation. Please see our Fundraising web page on how to contribute and our Donor Recognition web page for list of donors.
